١Overview
Thailand serves halal food across two distinct streams: certified restaurants displaying the official CICOT (Central Islamic Council of Thailand) seal, and a much larger pool of self-declared muslim-friendly venues serving Indian, Pakistani, Middle Eastern, Malay, and modern fusion cuisines. Bangkok's Sukhumvit Soi 3 (Nana) and Phadungdao around Chinatown are the densest halal hotspots; Phuket Town, Krabi, and Hat Yai also concentrate strong halal scenes thanks to local Muslim populations. Beyond food, Thai halal certification covers ingredients, preparation, and even the kitchen layout — a CICOT mark is a stricter signal than a generic 'halal' sign.
